This
lockup clutch is designed for the 2006-2008 Kawasaki ZX-14R. When you
use power adders such as nitrous or a turbo system, your factory clutch
won’t do the job by itself. Everything needed is included to make
this a bolt on product. The low profile design allows the spacer to be
narrow
and unnoticeable if anodized black* to match the factory cases and clutch
cover.
How this clutch works:
The outer clutch basket rotates at about a 3:1 ratio to the crankshaft
and is related to the engine’s RPM. The inner clutch hub is related
to the transmission and drive line. If you’re not moving there is
no added pressure regardless of RPM. As you engage the clutch and the clutch
assembly altogether spins, the loc-up adds progressive pressure through
the engines RPM range giving its maximum added clamping force at redline.
This simple idea means that there is little to no added pressure for street
driving and will feel like stock. As you climb through the RPM, the clutch
gets squeezed progressively as RPM increases thus getting all your power
to the tire.
*Spacer ring that ships with kit is not anodized. This allows the
owner to have total color choice in anodizing.
