Stage 1 of the program simply consists of a Muzzy
exhaust and a jet kit. The measured rear wheel horsepower
of the stock ZRX is 120 @ 8100 rpm and the addition
of the exhaust and jet kit bumps that to 136.6 @
8250. This is a 14% increase in power.

The
1224 cc Stage 2 is definitely the way to go.
This
consists of the pipe and jet kit, the "drop-in"
cams, and a 2mm overbore kit with higher, 12.5:1
compression. The added compression and 61cc's
of displacement provided by this step adds back
the
mid range power missing with just the Stage 2 cams
and moves the top end power to an exciting 165
hp
@ 9800 rpm, a whopping 45 hp, a 37% increase over
stock. Even better news though, is the 100 hp
you
get at 5850!

| The
use of just the drop in cams without the bore kit is a special
purpose step. The cams yield a further 12% increase in top
end
power (up to 153) but do not perform satisfactorily at the
5000 to 6500 rpm range. Any added cam without any added compression
does not provide and optimum mid-range. We say special purpose
because, although the cams do not cause a power drop that
is
below the STOCK power curve, the slope of increase at this
area may not be suitable for street use. These would provide
a peaky
drag race only power curve where high rpm breathing is the
only consideration. Again, this setup is available but not
recommended.
